Our creative juices are running low.....sooo ready for spring!!!

The kids are hard up for inside activities these days!! At first I was a little annoyed that they were re-arranging my little mini linen closet but then I got over it as I noticed at least they were entertained for a moment!! :) We are counting down the days for soccer, baseball and all those outside activities. We are all feeling vitamin D deficient these days.:)

We did get the chance to take the kids through the Draper Temple open house a couple of weeks ago. It was so beautiful and the kids each loved different rooms. I think Sydney and Tyler will always remember that experience and hopefully now every time we go to the temple Sydney will understand that it is not just a place where Mom and Dad kiss. Kids are too funny! These pictures were taken after at a nearby church where they handed out cookies and water, I think my kids took more than their fair share, I am hoping they will remember the actual temple experience versus the cookies that they had a million of.

1/2 marathon worth the amazing sunshine!!.

Hello blogging world, wow I have been so out of it. The month of December was such a blur but we had so many fun adventures to write about. I lost our charger to our camera so I have been waiting to write until I can get my pics off. We will see if that happens so until I get them I will write about our last weekend and use pics from my moms camera that I stole. I am sure she is wondering when I will give it back!

This last weekend we went down to enjoy some sunshine with cousins. My sis and I ran a 1/2 marathon in St. George and then enjoyed the Saturday with mom. It was very relaxing, we enjoyed sunshine, lunch and a little shopping. I guess if it takes running a 1/2 marathon to escape the kids and husbands for a day, I will keep running!! :) Here are some pictures of the fun, it was so warm on Sat. we decided to take the kids and hike around on Mon. It is so good to be out in the fresh air.

We got home Monday night and the next day we were back in the snow cross country skiing with Tyler's school class! I was in my happy place. We left the yucky smog in the valley and went up to Soldier Hollow in the beautiful sunshine and mountains.

I took this bottom picture myself and I obviously did not do a very good job, sorry Diana, I really did not mean to cut you out. She was the nicest mom that went by far!! She should get an award for helping all those kids that struggled that day and instead she gets cut out of the picture! :)

Had good intentions....

So this year is the first year in awhile that I didn't send out a Christmas card!!! I love getting Christmas cards and catching up with old friends or just seeing my friends cute families. So I ask why didn't I send a card this year, and the answer is I don't really know what happened. There is really no reason why, I had good intentions but for some reason it just seemed like one more thing on the list. I know I really just FLOPPED!! But I did take some pictures so at least I can look back and say oh ya that was Christmas 2008. :)

Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Tyler Brent Adams turns the big 9!!

Tyler opening presents, he did get more than deodorant, Brent just got sick of looking for his.
Breakfast in bed, although he is always up first with mom so we decided the couch would work.

Nine years ago Tyler came into this world. It sometimes just seems like just yesterday and than other times I think, "Wow that was forever ago!!"  Tyler wasn't very coopertive when it came to entering this world! I remember being sent home 2 different times when I thought I was in labor and then the third time when I was really in labor I refused to go because I knew they were just going to send me home again.  Luckily my mother and Brent finally talked me into going. Then there was the labor, it felt like an absolute eternity. I never could get that stubborn little boy out and next thing you know I was having an emergency C-section. All that labor and pain just to have a C-section.  I remember calling my mother at 4:30 am and saying so much for the big hip theory, stupid hips did me no good!! :)

Needless to say our life changed forever when Tyler was born. He was so beautiful. He had really dark hair with this little swirley (his calick) on the top of his head, and these great big lips and hands. He was a very big baby and very much loved. He was the first grand baby on the Adams side and there was no lack of love for Tyler from both sides of our extended family!

Tyler has brought so much joy into our lives. He is sweet, funny, sensitive and yes, very stubborn like his mother maybe?? I really admire Tyler for his determination and drive to go after what he sets his mind to. His stubborn, determined little personality can at times be exhausting and yet I think it will end up being one of his greatest strengths.

Tyler is such a great brother and example to Sydney and McKay and his cousins. He has such a way with little kids. He is very sensitive to others and is always concerned for his family.  We love Tyler, he always keeps it exciting around the Adams house!!

HOPE YOU HAD A HAPPY B-DAY!!

So many things to be thankful for....

So many things to be thankful for, where do I start??
Ok I have to admit, the first thing I was thankful for this past week was that Tyler finally decided it was more work than it was worth to grow out his hair, so he cut it today. Yeah, I can see his bright green eyes again! :)

We had such a great Thanksgiving week. It felt like all we did was eat all week long. Brent's family was here for the first part of the week and the cousins had lots of fun playing. Tyler and Sydney even spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa Adams house (which used to be where we lived) so that was really fun for them to go back there. We then enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with them on Wednesday night. We were all there except Uncle Dave and Aunt Heidi, we missed them.

The next day (on Thanksgiving) we had a very quiet and fun Thanksgiving dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Duncan. It was just our little family and my parents, it felt very strange but we loved being spoiled!! We had lots of yummy food and then we went to the movie, Bolt. The kids had fun but they definitely missed their cousins on the Duncan side.

I always feel so blessed to have such amazing family and friends who fill my life with so much joy!

Now the party is over for now and my Christmas crap (as my father and Brent would call it) is all over the house waiting patiently for me to get a spurt of energy. Until that spurt of energy comes and the hustle and bustle begins, I will try and remember all the ways we have been so richly blessed!! (Way too many to list) I am always grateful that another year has come and gone and I still got away with only making the rolls! I know one day this will end and every year I think to myself, "I am going to have to make this big meal for my whole family one day," but until then I will enjoy my mother's amazing cooking! Thanks mom for always making it so special, even if it was just for us!!

**Quick side note to myself....I realized as I was running a longer run today, maybe it wasn't such a good idea to have Thanksgiving dinner 3 days in a row or maybe I should have skipped the pie at least one of those days! :)

Pictures soon to come!:)

Another belated post!

I know Halloween has come and gone and once again I am posting a very belated post but I couldn't miss writing about all the fun adventures Halloween brought.

We enjoyed the annual Duncan Pumpkin Carving Party, going to Young Family Farms with friends, going from Pumpkin Patch to Pumpkin patch with the kids school classes, the good old ward trunk or treat and we are still feeling completely sick from major candy overload!!

Tyler's school teacher did a pretty cool paint job don't you think?

Princess Tinkerbell, her personality fit this costume.

Mckay was spiderman at the first few parties then decided to take on the Joker as batman!! It's a good thing we have these in the dress ups!

We also celebrated Brent's birthday! We usually just celebrate by going trick or treating but this year we had a few friends over to help celebrate. I won't mention how old he is getting but it makes my ripe age of 32 sound young!:) Happy Birthday Brent, thank goodness you were born!! You are an amazing father and a very patient husband!!!:) We love you!!
